Humble Beginnings... laying the foundation
Premier gets its entrepreneurial spirit from Steve Corsun, who grew up in Queens, NY in a working-class family. When Steve was an MBA student at the Stern School of Business at NYU, he met the vice chairman of the board at a rapidly growing consumer products conglomerate. The executive who had volunteered to help with an educational project at NYU, was impressed by Steve and offered him a job.
After working for several years in their marketing department on branded products, such as Esquire Shoe Polish, Steve decided to start his own manufacturing and marketing business, along with two partners selling accessory products to shoe retail chains. Premier Brands of America Inc. was born and Steve, as a young entrepreneur, ran the company from its humble beginnings.

Steve has passed the leadership of Premier to his son, Alexander, and the blueprint for the company’s next phase of strategic growth is firmly in place.
The next decade promises to be one of innovation and new product expansion. As always, the focus will be on the consumer – delivering solutions that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. Premier will continue to grow in both store branded and nationally branded products. These products will be supported by top-grade facilities, an expanded Research and Development lab, additional high-tech manufacturing capabilities, and an aggressive marketing and sales effort.
Corporate Social Responsibility
At Premier, corporate social responsibility (CSR) means living our values to improve the communities where we live and work and to reduce our environmental impact. We strive to make our company the best that it can be.
Our Premier, People, and Planet Program challenges employees to think beyond their job functions to deepen the connection between CSR and Premier’s values. The program has spurred a number of new CSR initiatives – ranging from an annual Month of Service to new energy-efficient lighting – and also resulted in an improved understanding among employees of the process of developing innovative ideas into implementable programs.
Premier views sustainability in the same way that we look at any other game-changing business opportunity – it forces us to think differently about our operations. We have established baseline metrics to evaluate our environmental and social impacts in areas such as energy use and recycling rates, and are transforming our manufacturing operations and product design with sustainability in mind. Our Orangeburg, NY facility runs on 100% renewable electricity, and our Hudson, NY location will follow suit by the end of 2022. As always, strict compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations remains our top priority.
